The halfway point in the construction of three major healthcare projects in Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – has been reached, signifying major progress being made.
The projects in question are the second phase project of the Jiangsu Taizhou People's Hospital, the Taizhou Maternity & Infant Health Hospital and the Taizhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
With a total investment of 690 million yuan ($96.52 million), the second phase project of the Jiangsu Taizhou People's Hospital involves a research center, a phase I clinical research center and laboratory, a health management center, a teaching and skills training center and an academic conference center, among other facilities.

The project has completed 77 percent of the engineering and its interior decoration has completed 3 percent of the work.
Elsewhere the Taizhou Maternity & Infant Health Hospital plans to set up 12 standard wards and two special wards containing 800 beds. It's expected to be completed by the end of this year.
At present, its external decoration has been completed and the internal fitting is underway.
In addition, the Taizhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention aims to improve its testing capabilities, by adding 16 standard level-two biosafety laboratories and 15 standard food and water quality laboratories from the renovation of previous laboratory buildings.
Currently, half of the external wall renovation and roof anti-seepage work has been completed and 95 percent of the internal structural reinforcement has been completed, with 35 percent of the internal equipment installation now completed.
