Taicang promotes investment at 'Invest in China' events in Denmark, Germany

A delegation from Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, visited Denmark and Germany to participate in the 2024 "Invest in China" series of events organized by the Ministry of Commerce.

The China-Denmark business roundtable held in Denmark on April 2 was among the events the delegation attended. During the meeting, the delegation introduced Taicang's favorable investment environment and high-quality service concepts. They also extended an invitation for Danish companies to establish their business presence in Taicang.

According to the roudtable, Taicang has attracted numerous European and American companies to operate in the city, including 10 Danish companies such as Novozymes and Sondex. Going forward, Taicang plans to introduce more European and American companies in emerging fields such as green energy, intelligent manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, and green shipping to deepen cooperation and achieve mutual benefits.

On April 5, the delegation participated in the "Invest in China"-themed roundtable meeting held in Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

During the meeting, Ling Ji, vice-minister of commerce and China's deputy international trade representative, introduced the development cases of three small and medium-sized German companies, including Kern-Liebers, that have invested in and grown in Taicang.

Representatives from German companies at the event expressed that Taicang has gathered numerous German-funded enterprises and offers a favorable investment environment. They see Taicang as a promising place for investment and are considering cooperation in new energy, intelligent manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals with Taicang.

Since the first German-funded enterprise, Kern-Liebers, made its business presence in Taicang in 1993, more than 500 German companies have followed suit over the past 30 years, thriving and growing in Taicang.

In the future, Taicang will continue to uphold the principles of openness, innovation, collaboration, and mutual benefits, partnering with German companies in emerging fields to develop new quality productive forces and achieve mutual benefits.
