Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, emerged as a major player in the recently-released lists of major development projects for Jiangsu province and key projects for Suzhou in 2024.

Specifically, Taicang has secured a total of seven projects on the list of major development projects, along with three projects designated as reserve projects.

One of the key projects is the base for Global Advanced's modern commercial aircraft cabin and information system. The facility is expected to produce 600,000 sets of aviation cabin systems and related products annually, along with 24,000 sets of aviation information systems and associated products.

Another significant project in the list is the Yizhao Qixi biopharmaceutical Project, which focuses on new drug research and development, pilot services, contract manufacturing, inspection, and testing. Several first-class innovative biopharmaceuticals for various indications produced by the project are currently in the clinical trial phase.

Furthermore, Taicang has 77 projects included in the list of key projects across various sectors at the city level, the most in Suzhou. The total planned investment for these projects is approximately 111.2 billion yuan ($15.39 billion).
