Located in downtown Taicang, Chengxiang town is the cradle of Loudong culture.

Named one of the national top 100 towns, the town has been focusing efforts on developing its three pillar industries – intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, and new materials  - in recent years.

The town is also making efforts to promote the integration of its agriculture, culture, and tourism sectors, with three leisure tourism attractions established.

The town has been endeavoring to improve its social governance by innovating working mechanisms and introducing digital technology.
