Suzhou releases travel guide for foreigners

The English travel guide Pocket Suzhou was recently published by the Suzhou bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism, local media outlets reported.
The book, which is the city's first in-depth travel guide in English, features topics including classical gardens, the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal, museums and cultural venues, ancient towns and villages, and local specialties.
The guide also has a section on several cycling, hiking, aquatic itineraries that foreigners would appreciate.
The Suzhou bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism said that Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and French editions of the guide could be made available in 2022. Family trips will also be a highlight in this year's upgrade of the book.
Suzhou, a renowned city in Jiangsu province that boasts a strong economy and rich cultural resources, has been ranked as one of the most attractive Chinese cities for foreigners for 10 consecutive years.
There are currently about 12,000 foreign talents - about 46 percent of the provincial total - working in Suzhou. The city welcomed 1.8 million foreign tourists in 2019.
