Nike adds investment in Taicang

Angela Dong, vice-president of Nike, witnessed the signing ceremony for Nike Sports (China) Co's automatic warehouse project in Taicang, Jiangsu province on Nov 26.
Nike Sports (China) Co will invest another $100 million into the construction of a fully automated logistics warehouse in Taicang, according to Shi Jichun, vice-president of greater China for Nike.
The automated warehouse will only be two thirds the size of a traditional warehouse while being more efficient in terms of storage, manufacturing, and delivery.
Nike Sports (China) Co is one of the biggest foreign-invested companies in Taicang. The company is growing steadily and has made significant contributions to the local economy.
In 1996, Nike set up its first Chinese subsidiary in Taicang. In 2011, the Nike China Logistics Center in Taicang became the biggest of its kind in Asia. In January 2019, the sports giant put the third phase of the logistics center into operation.
