To reserve taste of old Huangjing for locals
Love that can stand the test of time is the best and the truest one and so is the case with delicacies.
On the Yuanlin Road of Taicang's Huangjing town, a pair of 67-year-old sisters has run an old-fashioned dim sum store for decades.
The dim sums sold at the store are all Huangjing's traditional snacks and even many local young people aren't able to call out their names, such as fried glutinous rice balls, special shaomai, and fried sweet dough balls.
The fried glutinous rice balls are the snacks that have accompanied old Huangjing residents since their childhood.
As the name suggests, the fried glutinous rice balls are made out of glutinous rice and stuffed with minced meat.
Their soft and fragrant taste and the satiety easily brought by just one ball have made them one of Huangjing people's indispensable afternoon snacks.
