Sheng Dashi (1771 - ), courtesy name Zilv, and he styled himself as Yi Yun, also known as Lanyi Taoist, Lanqi Taoist, Taicang origin. He was the second degree candidate in the former provincial examination in the 5th year of Emperor Jiaqing (1800), and an education officer in Shanyang county.

He was knowledgeable, and good at both poetry and painting. He followed the Wang family of Loudong School of Painting in landscape, but slightly differed and has the style of masters. He followed the style of Wang Yuanqi, and is one of the outstanding painters of the later years of Loudong School.

This is a spectacular landscape painting; the main peak is in the middle of the picture, with all other peaks as foil; the mountain is outlined with ink; it focuses on the architecture of surface of mountain and blocks, with loose but very clear style of painting; it has a thick and solid feel. The whole picture is flexible in technique, and the color is light and elegant.
