In recognition of its contributions to the promotion of culture, Binhu District Library in Wuxi, Jiangsu province was recently designated as a national first-class library by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

This prestigious title is bestowed upon libraries that excel in various criteria, including book collection, facility quality, service offerings, management proficiency, and the level of digital integration.

Covering an area of about 9,600 square meters, Binhu District Library offers free access to readers throughout the year. The library boasts multiple reading rooms, such as an electronic reading room and rooms designed for children and the visually impaired. Additionally, the reader's activity room hosts a variety of events, including book clubs, English language salons, sessions on local Wu culture, and artistic gatherings.

The library plans to open more branches in the district's tourist attractions in the coming year to integrate the cultural and tourism sectors. To better meet the evolving needs of its readership, the library will also align its procurements with the preferences and demands of its diverse audience.
