The inauguration ceremony of the Imperial College London Wuxi Alumni Association was held in Binhu district, Wuxi on Aug 28.
Imperial College London has groomed numerous exceptional talents, including Nobel Prize laureates, Turing Award recipients, and Fields Medal winners. The first 50 members of the Wuxi alumni association specialize in various sectors such as aerospace, new materials, and new energy.
During his address, Zhou Changqing, a member of the standing committee of the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee, expressed hope that the association would play an active role in facilitating the introduction of high-end industrial projects and top-tier talent to Wuxi, enhancing innovation, contributing to key technological breakthroughs, and engaging in collaboration with local companies.
In recent years, Binhu district has deepened its collaboration with esteemed universities like Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Jiangnan University. This concerted effort has stimulated growth in fields like synthetic biology, quantum technology, and artificial intelligence, attracting high-caliber talent to start their careers in the district.
Looking ahead, the district will focus on cutting-edge industries like biopharmaceuticals and intelligent manufacturing. In areas such as technology transfer, entrepreneurial incubation, and market expansion, the district aims to continuously expand its cooperation with Imperial College London.
