Wuxi Qinger Huasheng Technology Co located in Binhu district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province won a gold medal at the recently-concluded International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland.

The medal was in recognition of their real ear measurement and testing system, a medical device that assists patients in precise hearing aid fitting by detecting responses near the eardrum using a probe microphone.

In the exhibition last year, a portable device integrating tinnitus detection and treatment developed by the company's professor Gong Qin and her team also won a gold medal.

Gong, a doctor from Tsinghua University and a postdoctoral researcher at Northwestern University in the United States, is currently the director of the Acoustics and Cognitive Engineering Laboratory at Tsinghua University and director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the Wuxi Research Institute of Applied Technologies of Tsinghua University.

With this year's new medal, Gong has become the only Chinese medical device developer to win the award five times.

The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, founded in 1973, is held annually and one of the longest-running and largest invention exhibitions globally. The exhibition is jointly organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the government of Geneva Canton, the Geneva municipal government, and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

This year's opened on April 26, and saw more than 800 participants from 40 countries presented with over 1,000 invention projects and 55 projects brought by Chinese teams receive gold medals.
