The first Grand Canal-themed art exhibition kicked off in the library of Jiangnan University in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 20 and will run till Oct 27. 

A hundred art works that were created by artists from the Wuxi's five districts and two county-level cities were displayed at the exhibition. 

The works, including traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, watercolor painting and woodcutting, depict the splendid scenery and daily lives of the people living in the Wuxi section of the canal. 

The exhibition will next be held in the Canal Bund Art Gallery from Nov 5 to 12.
