Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province was one of the main highlights of a tourism promotion activity held in the city on July 23.

Three places in Binhu – Turtle Head Island, Nianhua Bay Small Town, and Rsun the Lakefort Hotel – were included in Wuxi's first list of 10 demonstration sites for rehabilitation and healthcare tourism released that day. Fourteen scenic spots in the district, including the Lingshan Scenic Area and Wuxi Plum Garden, were also recommended by the city's bureau of tourism as ideal camping sites.

The Nianhua Bay Scenic Area displayed a variety of creative cultural products and offered 33-yuan ($4.75) tickets for children at the activity, while Wuxi Studios showcased its innovations in filmmaking and promoting Chinese literary classics.

Binhu district has since the beginning of this year been making efforts to integrate the development of its tourism industry with other sectors such as culture, agriculture, sports and commerce. The district has unveiled more than 30 cultural and tourism activities that are held throughout the year.
