The commerce bureau of Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province is working with several departments to develop Best Binhu, a business service platform aimed ataccelerating its building of an open economy.
The platform, which can be downloaded on mobile phones after its release, is aimed at providing one-stop services, including project registration, policy interpretation, and consulting, to the nearly 2,000 companies that are foreign-funded or related to foreign trade, trade in services and e-commerce in Binhu.
The platform is also expected to help the district make the most out of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, the world's largest free trade agreement, which took effect on Jan 1, 2022.
Binhu made considerable headway in opening-up in 2021. Its actual use of foreign investment reached $430 million while its foreign trade volume totaled 22.45 billion yuan ($3.32 billion), up 40.4 percent year-on-year.
That same year, Binhu's trade in services amounted to $869 million, an increase of 7.3 percent compared to 2020, while $192 million worth of goods were exported through cross-border e-commerce, up 26.3 percent year-on-year.
