The highly-rated drama television series A Lifelong Journey was co-produced by Lu Film in Binhu district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province.

Adapted from author Liang Xiaosheng's Mao Dun Literature Prize-winning novel of the same name, the TV series chronicles the lives of three siblings from a working-class family across 50 years of Chinese history.

After being aired on CCTV-1, the flagship channel of China Central Television, and iQiyi, an online video platform, the series has been watched by about 400 million people. The hashtag "A lifelong journey" on Weibo, a Twitter-like social media platform, has received more than 13 billion views. A number of mainstream media, including People's Daily and Xinhua Daily Telegraph, also published articles about the drama.

Established in 2015, Lu Film is located in Wuxi Studios in Binhu and has produced many well-received TV series, including In the Name of the People, a drama about China's anti-corruption efforts.

Wuxi Studios has been focusing on developing TV and film productions and other digital cultural industries. In 2021, 298 films were produced in the industrial park, up 14.2 percent over the previous year. In addition, the construction of the third phase of the park started at the beginning of 2022.
