Six enterprises in Binhu district were recently approved to set up municipal engineering technology research centers.

The approval from the city's science and technology bureau will encourage enterprises, including Maxscend Microelectronics Co and Kemaite Technology Development Co, to increase investment in R&D and cultivate more talents.

The newly approved centers, focusing respectively on integrated circuits, new materials and intelligent equipment, demonstrate Binhu's strength in promoting innovation among companies and establishing scientific and technological platforms.

To date, the district is home to 160 such municipal centers, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the city's total.
