The number of newly established market subjects in Binhu district totaled 4,055, including 32 foreign-invested companies, ranking first in Wuxi city in the first half of the year, according to official statistics unveiled by the district's administration for market regulation.

Statistics also showed that the total investment, registered capital and subscriptions from foreign buyers amounted to $2.94 million, $1.14 million, and $73 million, respectively, a year-on-year increase of 254.11 percent, 142.55 percent, and 135.48 percent.

In the first half of the year, there were 1,808 new enterprises in the district. The number of scientific research and technology enterprises reached 481, accounting for 26.6 percent of the total, the number of wholesale and retail enterprises reached 349, accounting for 19.3 percent of the total, and the number of business service enterprises reached 338, accounting for 18.69 percent of the total.
