Photojournalism forum held in Wuxi

Updated: 2015-12-11

The city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province hosted the 2015 China Photojournalism Summit Forum on Dec 9.

The forum, with a theme of "Tendency and Revolution", was organized by The Photojournalist Society of China (CPS), and attracted 120 editors and journalists from more than 100 mainstream media organizations in the country.

Dating back to 1990, the first photojournalism forum created a distinctive style of newspaper photojournalism "valuing both photos and words", which guided the development and promoted the flourishing of the country's journalism industry.

In the age of media convergence, photojournalism is experiencing great changes and requires transformation. How traditional media can adapt to new tendencies, how Chinese press photographers can develop critical thinking ability, and how photojournalism's operating system can be improved were all heated issues at this year's forum.

Many photojournalism prize winners addressed the forum and shared their opinions on the interaction between newspapers and the internet. The forum came to a resolution that photojournalists should make full use of shared resources and keep up with the times to produce innovative works catering to the public.

Some of the photojournalists will launch a photography contest in Wuxi following the forum.
