SAIC Motor's new EV model to debut in Europe in Q4

The first batch of 1,000 SAIC Motor's new EV model - MG Mulan - departed from Haitong port in Shanghai and headed to Europe on July 21.

The model is planned to debut in European markets, including countries such as Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Norway, and Sweden in Q4 this year.

This model was designed at the SAIC's design center located in Anting town, Shanghai's Jiading district. The model meets the world-class standards in safety, environmental protection, and quality.

According to Shao Jingfeng, global executive design director of the SAIC Design global team, the model is the outcome of its British and Chinese teams for clients in China and overseas and satisfies the demands of the Chinese and European markets in terms of appearance and vehicle impact safety.

The model complies with both national regulations and the strictest standards in the world for manufacturing automobiles, including REACH and E-Mark criteria.

With a global sales target of 150,000 vehicles in 2023, this model will also make its debut in Australia, East Asian nations, Mexico, and other countries and regions in South America in 2023.

The MG brand has become the most popular Chinese brand in overseas markets for three consecutive years and its overseas sales have exceeded one million vehicles.

Currently, the MG brand is available in 84 countries and regions all over the world and has been ranked among the top 10 brands in 18 countries and regions such as Australia.
