HWK Logistics is the only enterprise in Baotou certified by the TIR, and this was the first cross-border transportation business carried out since the city obtained international road transportation qualifications. Spanning across China and Mongolia, it covers a total distance of over 1,000 kilometers, and is an example of new quality productive forces in the transportation sector. Compared to the original port clearance model, it helps shippers achieve direct transportation, avoiding the risk in transit and reducing transportation costs by nearly 20 percent, with the transportation time shortened from one week to two to three days.

TIR is a global customs clearance system with a simplified clearance procedure of "one declaration, one release, one vehicle to the end". It enables contracting parties to exempt cross-border transportation from inspection, thereby improving transportation efficiency and reducing transportation costs.
The Baotou transport bureau will coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Transport Department to expand the scope of TIR transport certificates held by international road transport enterprises in the city, and work with commerce, customs, and other departments to assist logistics and trade enterprises in Baotou in exploring markets in Mongolia and Russia.
