Baotou hosts over 2 million tourists during National Day holiday
During the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, Baotou city welcomed 2.08 million tourists, with domestic visitor spending reaching 1.45 billion yuan ($204.4 million).
Over 70 cultural and tourism activities were launched across the city's districts, tourist attractions, night markets, and major commercial centers. The "Singing and Traveling in Inner Mongolia" brand was unveiled in Baotou as 216 community cultural events attracted more than 570,000 participants. These events featured exhibitions, performances, film screenings, and hands-on experiences.
Cultural performances and traditional music shows were held at the Yellow River Scenic Park, combining food, cultural creations, and intangible heritage displays. These activities boosted visitor engagement and drove tourism spending.
The Baotou Museum hosted various activities, including tea ceremonies, lightweight clay DIY workshops, lacquer fan-making, and museum tours.
The 2024 Baotou City Square Dance Grand Finals also took place, featuring 26 teams from across the city.
By continually enhancing its holiday cultural and tourism offerings, Baotou created a festive atmosphere.
