Baotou Public Transportation Group sets course for tourism revival
Baotou Public Transportation Group signed agreements with 11 companies on May 15, including Shandong Qingdao Yuanxiang International Travel Agency Co, to jointly develop a new integrated model combining accommodation, dining, transportation, retail, malls, and tourism.
"By partnering with these 11 companies, we expect to attract over 30,000 tourists to Baotou each year, boosting local consumption by over 100 million yuan ($13.8 million)," said Li Tianbai, manager of Daziran International Travel Agency Co affiliated to Baotou Public Transportation Group.
Additionally, the group's subsidiary, Baotou Jiyun Car Rental Service Co, has purchased 10 new Hongqi electric vehicles to enhance service capabilities and expand its market influence.
At the end of 2022, Baotou's State-owned enterprises underwent restructuring to improve operational efficiency. Over the past year, the Baotou Public Transportation Group has introduced some innovative services, such as the "BBQ Express" in summer, "Student Express" in summer and winter vacation, and wedding-themed buses, which have significantly boosted the passenger transport market.
Xu Cui, chairman of Shandong Qingdao Yuanxiang International Travel Agency Co, expressed strong confidence in future collaboration with Baotou Public Transportation Group to develop Baotou's tourism market. He noted that his company has been operating in Inner Mongolia's tourism market for the past four years and has successfully attracted 200,000 tourists.
Moving forward, Yuanxiang plans to fully leverage Baotou's rich tourism attractions, including the Wudangzhao Temple Cultural Scenic Area and the Saikhantal Urban Grassland. It aims to integrate Baotou's dining, accommodation, and entertainment facilities into its tourism orders.
