On May 15, it was announced that the 2024 Baotou Marathon will take place at 7:30 am on June 10 at the west gate of the Baotou Olympic Sports Center.

The event features three race categories: a full marathon (42.19 kilometers), a half marathon (21.09 km), and a fun run (approximately 5 km), with a total participation capacity of 30,000 runners.

Registration opened at 2:00 pm on May 15 and will close at 5:00 pm on May 21. Runners can register through the official 2024 Baotou Marathon website, WeChat account of Xempower Sports, or the Xempower Race Assistant WeChat applet. The event's organizing committee will determine participation via a lottery, with results announced later this month.

To encourage more runners to participate, the organizing committee has set up multiple enticing rewards. The top 10 finishers in the full marathon and the top eight in the half marathon will receive prizes, and participants that break course records in either the full or half marathon events will receive monetary bonuses.

A special Baotou Resident Award was also organized exclusively for Baotou residents, who need to be identified by their ID or social insurance proof in Baotou. The top 20 Baotou residents in both the full and half marathons will receive cash prizes. Be aware, participants can only receive either a ranking prize or a Baotou Resident Award, not both.
