The first open face-type Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) in Baotou city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, rolled off the production line at China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Baotou Co on March 26.

The TBM, with a diameter of 4.75 meters and a total length of 252 meters, fills the gap in the high-end TBM manufacturing field in both Baotou and Inner Mongolia.

TBM is a comprehensive piece of equipment that mechanically breaks rock, removes debris, and continuously supports the tunnel during operation.

The production and development of this TBM will contribute to the development of engineering technology in China.

Located in the Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Baotou Co has the production and assembly capacity for shield machines, TBMs, and integrated drilling and anchoring machines.

The company's newest open face-type TBM boasts features such as high efficiency, intelligence, and environmental friendliness.

It is equipped with advanced functions such as advanced geological forecasting, microseismic monitoring prediction systems, and harmful gas monitoring and alarm systems. It will be widely used in various complex geological work conditions in Baotou and its surrounding regions.
