The Baotou Rare Earth Museum officially opened in Baotou city, located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 5.

It is the only museum known that comprehensively displays the development process of the rare earth industry in the country.

The museum highlights the region's resource advantages, exploring rare earth traceability as well as rare earth around the world. It looks at rare earth in China and in the Baotou region, their applications and carbon neutrality.

It also displays the discovery, development and applications of rare earth elements, the formation and distribution of rare earth ores, the rare earth technological process and research and development.

More than 650 exhibits including historical documents, physical objects and rare earth raw materials, are combined with modern displays about informatization and digitalization.

The museum is expected to be a business card that helps promote Baotou as a rare earth capital and will play an important role in promoting investment and building industrial clusters in the region.

Moving forwards, plans are for the museum to continue to improve its management and levels of service. Moreover, it will strive to become a world-class center for rare earth science and a symbol of cultural prosperity.
