Baotou customs optimizes services to boost foreign trade

Updated: 2021-06-10

Baotou customs in the city of Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has begun to use a high-frequency, innovative service model to quickly meet the diverse needs of enterprises, and help them import raw materials and export products more smoothly, according to Baotou Daily.

Since the beginning of this year, the production and operation situations of foreign trade enterprises in Baotou city are generally better than last year.

In the first four months of this year, Baotou city saw a total import and export volume of 7.31 billion ($1.14 billion), a year-on-year increase of 35.1 percent, putting it first among all the leagues and cities in the autonomous region.

Recently, Baotou customs staff members went to Inner Mongolia King Deer Cashmere Co to publicize preferential policies related to certificates of origin. More than 30 company employees participated in the event.

In order to help the company quickly obtain advanced certification, Baotou customs has carried out policy publicity and business guidance sessions at the company several times this year.

To date, 87 companies have been solicited for feedback or suggestions, and 26 staff members at Baotou customs have been assigned to companies in order to resolve related issues.

Baotou customs has adopted a variety of measures to reduce customs clearance time.

They have also strengthened inter-customs coordination. Through active coordination with Tianjin customs, the time limit for customs clearance of iron ore imported by Baogang Group has been reduced from about 10 days to fewer than four days.

Baotou customs has fully implemented an electronic inspection and quarantine certificate system for incoming goods, further reducing the length of customs clearance by two to three days.
