According to local media reports, a conference on cooperation in soybean production and marketing between North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and South China's Guangdong province was held in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, on June 28.
During the meeting, representatives from the two places agreed that they should develop an efficient cooperation mechanism and promote exchanges between their respective enterprises.
The two sides will encourage circulation and soybean processing enterprises in Guangdong to engage in soybean trade and set up factories in Inner Mongolia to produce environmentally friendly and high-quality soybean products.
The two sides will also encourage enterprises to strengthen the on-site conversion and deep processing of soybeans in order to increase added value, raise incomes for farmers and herdsmen, and make enterprises more efficient.
Inner Mongolia is rich in natural resources and is one of the most important producers of environmentally friendly and high-quality soybeans in China. This year, the soybean planting area in the region increased by 1.88 million mu (125,000 hectares) and the total output of soybeans is expected to exceed 1.8 million tons.
Guangdong has a strong soybean-processing capacity, a large market demand for soybeans, and advanced management techniques. Inner Mongolia and Guangdong complement each other well in the production and marketing of soybeans and are suitable partners in the trade of soybeans and in the construction of bases.
