The Mongolian School of Baotou was founded in 1957 and was originally called the Mongolian Primary School in Baotou.

Located in Qingshan district of Baotou, it covers an area of 54 mu (16 hectares), with a built-up area of 32,000 square meters, with a total investment of 150 million yuan ($21.91 million).

The school now has 83 faculty members, including 42 belonging to the Mongolian ethnic group.

There are currently 18 teaching classes and 632 students.

Buildings at the school are painted in colors representing Mongolian traditional culture, and integrate a simple style of modern architecture.
