The traditional Mongolian musical, My Ulan Muqir, was staged in Beijing, on Nov 13, receiving considerable applause from the audience.

The show was performed by the Ulan Muqir troupe from Xiliin Gol League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. It is the only stage show focusing on the development of Ulan Muqir troupes in the region over the past 60 years.

The musical is divided into six acts, featuring traditional Mongolian elements, including the matouqin (horse-head fiddle), long tune, a kind of traditional Mongolian folk music, and throat singing.

So far, the drama has been performed on 60 occasions across the country, winning many awards in the process.
