The 14th China-Russia-Mongolia Economic and Trade Fair in conjunction with a commercial products exhibition took place in Hailaar (Hailar), Hulunbuir League on Sept 6.

The fair, with an exhibition area of 16,000 square meters, displayed over 893 categories and 13,000 types of products. It contained 57 pavilions from Russia, 91 stalls from Mongolia, and 110 exhibition areas for the Belt and Road countries.

Apart from exhibitions, the fair included economic forums, trade negotiations, promotional events and cultural exchange activities. It built a platform for more than 400 enterprises from nearly 20 countries and regions including Russia, Mongolia and countries along the Belt and Road.

The event was hosted by Hulunbuir people’s government, Inner Mongolia Commerce Bureau, Inner Mongolia Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Hailaar people’s government, Hulunbuir commerce department, Hulunbuir development and reform commission, and Hulunbuir foreign affairs office.

Yu Lixin, secretary of Hulunbuir municipal Party committee, Jiang Hong, mayor of Hulunbuir, Liu Tingshan, head of Inner Mongolia Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and officials from Mongolia and Russia attended the opening ceremony.

Jiang Hong said that 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up, and Hulunbuir has committed to expanding its opening to the north, driving the development of port construction, economic and trade cooperation, transport and logistics.

Hulunbuir is gradually becoming the most dynamic area for the opening up along the northern border. Through this event, Jiang hopes for all parties to further strengthen communication, enhance cooperation, and consolidate partnership.

Governments from neighboring regions of China, Russia and Mongolia continue to improve the mechanism of opening up and cooperation with the outside world, conducting business trade in an all-round way, and jointly creating a bright future for the win-win situation, added Jiang.

The fair has driven the development of foreign trade in Hulunbuir over the past few years, and will add further vitality to its opening up and commercial partnerships with cities along the China-Russia-Mongolia Economic Corridor.
