The Center for Teacher Education Research of Beijing Normal University (BNU·CTER) launched a branch at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) on Sept 26.

The unveiling ceremony coincided with a seminar focused on revitalizing teacher education in ethnic areas in the new era and the teacher education development plan of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).

Song Lei, deputy director of the Department of Teacher Education of China's Ministry of Education, delivered a speech at the event. He stated that 2020 marks the end of many teacher education policies and is a fresh opportunity to promote teacher education modernization.

Huang Yali, Party chief of IMNU, also delivered a speech. She said that building the Inner Mongolia branch of BNU·CTER at IMNU is a landmark achievement of the school’s strategic cooperation with top universities. It will power the development of IMNU's teacher education and "double first-class construction," which means developing IMNU into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.

The seminar was of great significance for strengthening the top-level design of teacher education in ethnic areas during the "14th Five-Year" period. Huang pledged that IMNU would provide dedicated services for experts and scholars, allowing them to make academic exchanges more easily.

Among the attendees were experts and scholars who gave outstanding keynote presentations.
