Inner Mongolia Normal University has fully leveraged its education and faculty resources to promote poverty alleviation work in the region.

By using various different approaches, IMNU helped impoverished areas in education, developing farm products, as well as in commercializing traditional handicrafts commercialization, among others.

While advancing a National Training Program for Primary and Secondary School Teachers, IMNU tried to ensure that it favored poverty-stricken regions. Of the 43 training projects that were carried out, 79 percent were targeted on poor banners and counties.

Officials said IMNU selected more than 300 experts and academics with rich teaching management experience from within and outside Inner Mongolia, to expand the region’s training of the profession. They are expected to train more than 100,000 people.

IMNU is also focusing its efforts in the poorer areas. Its advantages in academic disciplines, specialties and human resources were fully utilized in cooperation with poverty-stricken areas.

For example, IMNU signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with the Hinggan League's administration office to support its education and socioeconomic development in terms of talent introduction, teacher training, professional support, cooperation in scientific research and the establishment of an undergraduate program establishment, as well as in other fields.

Officials said IMNU was also in partnership with Xiliin Gol League, agreeing to provide it with high-quality teacher training.
