IMNU holds humanities, social sciences federation conference

An important gathering was held by the Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences of Inner Mongolia Normal University on March 21, in the form of a video conference, according to the organizers.

The conference elected the members of the second standing committee of the federation.

These were Zhao Donghai, Zhang Baocheng, Zhang Yuzhu, Wang Zhiqiang, Guo Shirong, Qi Shisan, Wuritaoketaohu, Man Quan, Yan Yan and Li Chunhui, the officials said.

The conference also elected the second presidium of the federation, with Zhao Donghai as the chairman. Zhang Baocheng, Wang Zhiqiang, Wuritaoketaohu and Li Chunhui were elected as vice chairmen and Jin Liang was elected as secretary general.

Inner Mongolia Normal University is the earliest university in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region to set up a federation of humanities and social sciences.

Officials said it led 21 regional undergraduate colleges and three vocational colleges in the autonomous region to establish federations of their own.

They added that it had played an important role in carrying out social science research and popularization, and in participating in social science awards and social services.

Professor Zhang Baocheng presented a work report entitled “Being upright and innovating, overcoming difficulties, striving to create a new situation in social science work.”

In it, Zhang reviewed the achievements the federation has made over the past five years and introduced the overall work requirements and main tasks for the next five years.

The conference was also attended by professors in the field of humanities and social sciences at the university, directors in charge of doctorate programs, professor representatives and people in charge of related federation affairs.
