Applications and admissions notice

1. Applicants must undergo a physical examination before enrollment. The checklist should be obtained from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate.

2. Applicants must provide proof of criminal records.

3. Applicants are required to submit their personal resume and relevant academic credentials.

4. Applicants should bring three to six standard passport photos when they enroll.

5.  IMNU accepts those with Chinese language skills to start courses at any time.

Admission requirements

1. Chinese language courses for foreign students

*Age :16-55 years old

*In a condition of good health

2. Undergraduate programs

(1) Obtained senior high school graduation certificates and hold a valid foreign passport

(2) Chinese language requirements: HSK level 5 in liberal arts and Chinese language, HSK level 3 in science and engineering, HSK level 4 in economics, management and art

(3) Age:18-40 years old

(4) In good health

3. Postgraduate programs

(1) Obtain a bachelor’s degree and hold a valid foreign passport

(2) Chinese language requirements: HSK level 5 in liberal arts and Chinese language, HSK level 4 in science and engineering, HSK level 4 in economics, management and art

(3) Age:18-40 years old

(4) In good health

4. PhD programs

(1) Obtained a master's degree and hold a valid foreign passport

(2) Chinese language requirements: HSK level 5 in liberal arts and Chinese language, HSK level 4 in science and engineering, HSK level 4 in economics, management and art

(3) Age: 18-45 years old

(4) In good health

5.Professional Courses

(1) According to the different professional courses applied for, refer to the admission standards of academic students.

(2) Chinese language requirements: HSK level 5 in liberal arts and Chinese language, HSK level 4 in science and engineering, HSK level 4 in economics, management and art

(3) Age:18-50 years old

(4) In good health

Registration and admission procedures

Step 1: Obtain the International Student Admission Application Form from the website homepage of IMNU’s School of International Exchange or via the school’s fax, telephone, letter or email

Step 2: Send the completed International Student Admission Application Form, a copy of passport, resume and relevant academic credentials to Department of Educational Affairs of the School of International Exchange at Inner Mongolia Normal University

Step 3: After receiving application materials, the School of International Exchange College will issue an Inner Mongolia Normal University Admission Notice and the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students to China (Form JW202) after review and approval.

Step 4: Approved applicants should take the Inner Mongolia Normal University Admission Notice and Form JW202 to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the country where the successful applicant is located, to apply for a study visa (Visa X).

Step 5: Approved applicants should register at IMNU according to the date and address on the Admissions Notice. When entering China, applicants should immediately report at IMNU and go through the registration procedures and take part in a medical examination. Applicants should also go to the local public security organs to complete residence procedures within 30 days, to avoid an illegal stay.
