Experts discuss language intelligence education

A forum on language intelligence training for college students in ethnic areas was held by Inner Mongolia Normal University and the Research Center for Language Intelligence in China on Jan 10. 

Zhou Jianshe, director of the Research Center for Language Intelligence in China and former vice president of Capital Normal University, and various experts from the Chinese Language Industry Research Institute attended the forum. 

Zhou said that Inner Mongolia Normal University has always been known as the "cradle of ethnic education". Universities should shoulder their responsibilities and play their roles in language education in ethnic areas. 

He hopes that the center will work together with the IMNU to use advanced artificial intelligence methods to explore new talent training models and contribute to the national strategy for building up national strength with education development.  

Zhang Haifeng, vice-president of IMNU, said that as an important base for teacher education in minority areas, IMNU has always attached importance to language education for students, and made great efforts to improve the writing, communication and expression capabilities of fifferent languages. 

The university will boost the integration of artificial intelligence technology and language education to explore new ways to improve the comprehensive abilities of students, according to Zhang. 

Wang Bin, director of the Institute of Intelligent Education, Research Center for Language Intelligence in China, delivered a keynote speech at the forum. 

The participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on the integration of artificial intelligence technology and language skills of college students.
