The show is related to the GDC Award, a Chinese design award that is among the most prestigious in the world. It was founded in 1992.
Since its founding, the GDC Show has featured nearly 100 activities in nearly 30 cities across the country, and more than 30,000 people have participated. The show aims to connect local culture with cutting-edge design concepts, expand the minds of local designers, and explore development possibilities for the regional design industry.
The event, held every other year, aims to showcase top designs through competitions, exhibitions, and lectures. It attracts numerous outstanding designers from all over the world.
The 2019 GDC Show is managed by the Shenzhen Graphic Design Association (SGDA), a non-profit professional design association, which hopes the event will cultivate new creative forces and help shape a sustainable future for the study of modern design.
