The northwestern finals of the 2018-2019 China University Football Association (CUFA) commenced on May 8 at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Over 400 players from 16 northwest China teams will participate in an eight-day competition for four spots in the national finals.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Laixi, vice-president of IMNU, said that it was the first time IMNU had held the competition and it was expected to have a far-reaching beneficial impact on the development of physical education at the school.
