A ceremony was held to mark the signing of a new agreement between Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) and the Institute for History of Natural Sciences (IHNS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in Beijing, on Jan 7.

The two parties will build the Institute for History of Science and Technology (IHST) together.

Yun Guohong, president of IMNU, said that IMNU will work hard to support the construction of IHST and actively develop the discipline of the history of science and technology.

As one of the earliest colleges and universities in China to develop disciplines related to the history of science and technology, IMNU has already established highly-rated professional research institutions. The university's research in the area is known and respected around the world.

The IHST will promote links with IMNU, said Zhang Baichun, president of IHNS.

Using their respective strengths, the two sides will conduct research, train personnel and develop disciplines, he added.
