A ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of an in-flight service major was held on Saihan campus at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU), on Nov 9.

During his opening remarks, Zhang Haifeng, vice-president of the university said that IMNU had made steady progress in deepening links with the private sector –– increasing the quality of civil aviation training.

He said that the university will continue to develop skilled airline workers, benefiting the aviation industry as a whole.

The in-flight service course, originally established by IMNU and Beijing Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co Ltd in 2008, was the first undergraduate aviation course to involve the private sector in China.

With an average employment of rate of more than 97 percent over the past 10 years, it has become a leading major at IMNU, winning praise and recognition from aviation companies across the world including TAAG Angola Airlines, Korean Air, Asian Airlines and Air China.

In October 2017, IMNU and Beijing Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co established Jintong College of Civil Aviation, marking a major step by the university in promoting cooperation with the private sector.
