About 18 teachers and students majoring in Japanese from Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) volunteered at the China-Japan forum for economic exchanges and cooperation held in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 8.

Sponsored by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, over 20 leaders of Japanese companies and about 100 representatives from Chinese enterprises attended the forum for cooperation.

IMNU volunteers were mainly responsible for translating information supplied by the Chinese representatives, interpreting during the welcome lunch, and accompanying them on a tour of Mengniu, one of the biggest dairy companies in China.

Volunteers allowed the companies from China and Japan to have unhindered communication with each other, and the companies in attendance had access to professional translation services.
