The Grassland International Design Art Festival commenced in Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) on August 3, attracting renowned designers and artists from home and aboard to exchange ideas.

The art festival, organized by IMNU, a local planning enterprise as well as Creative Designer Salon of China (CDS), is part of the 2018 Silk Road International Nadam Festival, an event initiated in 2015.

Five artists, designers and experts of Mongolian studies were invited to deliver lectures of creation during the art festival.

More than 70 artists from home and aboard plan to create art pieces focusing on horses on the spot, which will highlight the event.

Students on the campus will receive instructions of producing art works from these acclaimed artists.

The art festival will also feature a horse-themed exhibition. IMNU started calling for entries of creative art works in June. A total of 100 pieces were selected to be displayed during the exhibition.

According to Yun Guohong, president of IMNU, the Grassland International Design Art Festival, and the Silk Road International Nadam Festival have been the brand cultural events of the university, helping improve IMNU's national and global recognition.

The art festival will conclude on August 7.
