IMNU offers new handicrafts classes

A traditional folk handicrafts class called “beading”was held at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) on March 23.

A total of 20 students took part in the class taught by Yue Peiying, vice-chairman of the Hand-knitting Association of Ulanqab.

As part of efforts to promote traditional culture and pass on traditional forms of art to new generations, the Office of Teaching Affairs at IMNU will offer new arts classes to students, such as paper cutting, wheat straw painting and wire braiding.

By teaching students traditional handicrafts, we can help them understand the value of our traditional culture while developing their practical skills and ability to study history, said Li Chunhui, deputy director of the Office of Teaching Affairs.

Shengle campus will start to offer a class in paper cutting from March 29, and students will be able to earn credits for completing the new courses.
