Lei Feng Day marked with volunteer work

Dozens of volunteers from Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) cleaned the streets and enforced parking restrictions on March 5, to honor Chinese icon Lei Feng.
Lei, who was a soldier and died in August 1962, was known for helping people in need during his spare time.
Since 1963, March 5 has been celebrated as a special day across the country. And the day is officially called the Learn from Lei Feng Day.
The activity was also part of the local government's efforts to build a clean and civilized city.
