Calligraphers from Inner Mongolia Calligrapher Association wrote Spring Festival couplets for the teaching staff at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) to celebrate the coming Chinese New Year on Jan 17.

Gao Yunfeng, deputy Party secretary of IMNU, Wang Zhiqiang, deputy director at the employment center, calligraphy enthusiasts, and retired staff of the university attended the activity.

“Writing Spring Festival couplets is one of the traditional customs to celebrate Chinese New Year,” said Zhang Shutian, a calligrapher, adding that such an activity was a good way to bring teaching staff closer together.

Zhang said that he was happy to write couplets for staff members at IMNU.

“I don't need to buy couplets this year. These hand-written couplets are very meaningful and make me feel really warm,” said a staff member working in the library.
