Hundreds of students from the Tourism College of Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) showcased their professional inflight service skills during a performance held at Shengle campus on Dec 12.

The event, which consisted of a sign language performance, a runway show presenting uniforms for flight attendants, and a skills competition on cabin safety, attracted thousands of participants.

It was aimed at displaying the teaching achievements of the Tourism College and increasing awareness of cabin safety among students that majored in inflight services.

China has witnessed an increasing number of airline passengers in recent years, according to a person from the college, adding that learning emergency and safety procedures for an aircraft is of vital importance.

He noted that such activities will help build trust, and these also show passengers the hard work involved in inflight services.

The major in inflight services, originally established in 2008, was the first undergraduate aviation course to involve the private sector in China.

With a high employment rate, it has been a leading major at IMNU, winning praise and recognition from the aviation industry.

On Oct 28, Jintong College of Civil Aviation, jointly established by IMNU and Beijing Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co Ltd, was unveiled.

The establishment of Jintong College of Civil Aviation is another major step for IMNU in promoting cooperation with the private sector in providing education.
