A total of 146 students from eight universities such as IMNU, Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities, and Baotou Teachers' College participated in 13 contests on Nov 19.

The competition, organized by Innovation Alliance for Inner Mongolia Teachers and Education and IMNU, aims to promote the innovation and entrepreneurship in the region, deepen the reform on teaching abilities, and build a platform for the college teachers and students to exchange skills.

"Improving the teaching skills of students is vitally important to the construction of the high advanced teams of teachers. The competition is expected to promote the sustainable development of training teachers," said Chen Junjie, an official from Department of Education of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, speaking at the opening ceremony.

Zhang Haifeng, vice-president of IMNU, pointed out that practical teaching is a necessary part of training teachers, and the competition reflects the university’s devotion towards improving practical teaching.

IMNU has established a four-tiered system for the competition including contests in classes, schools, colleges and at national level.

During the opening ceremony, High Education Press and Edustar, a Beijing-based company, also showcased their educational resources and teaching equipment.
