The Education Science College at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU), formerly known as Education Department, was established in 1960. It is the first college and research center focused on education science and psychology science in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

There are five majors including pedagogy, pre-school pedagogy, special pedagogy, psychology and public service administration for undergraduate students. Majors like pedagogy, pre-school pedagogy, psychology and public service administration are featured majors in Inner Mongolia autonomous region. And its courses on education history of China, management of pre-school pedagogy, educational psychology, general psychology, developmental psychology are selected as excellent courses in the region. 

Its major of psychology is co-constructed by Ministry of Education and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and is a key featured major in the university.

With affiliated research groups and institutions like Inner Mongolia Psychology Society, the college has established a comprehensive research platform, laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-level talents.

About 79 faculty and staff members work in the school. Among them are 13 professors, 27 associate professors, 20 doctors, 36 masters, 5 PhD supervisors and 26 postgraduate supervisors.

It has established a professional team consisted of 14 teachers who are proficient in Mongolian and Chinese. The college leads the university in fields like construction of disciplines and quality education. 

The college has made remarkable achievements in research and cultivating talents since its establishment. It has published more than 400 papers in academic publications like Education Research and Acta Psychologica Sinica and more than 50 textbooks and reference books over the past ten years. It made great efforts in studying education science and psychology science, publishing more than 20 books in Mongolian characters. 

Currently, there are 1,023 undergraduate students, 368 postgraduate students and 23 doctorate students studying in the college. 

Since its establishment, the college has made continuous efforts in strengthening the construction of disciplines and opening up. Over the past 35 years, it has cultivated more than 5,900 undergraduate students, 1000 postgraduate students, and 6,000 self-taught students from different ethnic groups for the nation. It started to enroll oversea students studying for master's and doctorate degrees in 2006.
