Teachers and student vocalists from Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) participated in the Renato Bruson International Competition, which was held from Oct 26 to Nov 2 in Wuhan, Hubei province. Teacher Liu Jianfen from the university's College of Ethnic Arts won second place in the competition.

Named after Renato Bruson, one of Italy's finest operatic baritones, the event is one of the world's major vocal competitions. Chinese operatic tenors Dai Yuqiang and Shi Yijie, and other renowned music educators were invited to judge the competition.

Exceptionally talented singers who performed well in the competition are expected to get the chance to further their studies at the Renato Bruson Academy and join the trainee program at Teatro Regio di Parma, one of Italy's most famous opera houses and companies.
