Jintong College of Civil Aviation opens at IMNU

Jintong College of Civil Aviation, jointly established by Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) and Beijing Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co Ltd, was unveiled on Oct 28.

A total of 180 officials from authorities at the national and local level participated in the opening ceremony.

"IMNU and Beijing Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co Ltd learned from the school-enterprise cooperation of the past 10 years, and explored the innovation of education," said Yun Guohong, president of IMNU, speaking at the opening ceremony.

The establishment of the college is a major step for IMNU in speeding up its management of schools. 

The regional government of Inner Mongolia autonomous region is planning to build an education town, which will facilitate the development of Jintong College of Civil Aviation, Yun added.

"Based on the diversified ownership, Jintong College of Civil Aviation will develop more majors related to air transportation and cultivate more skilled workers for the civil aviation industry," said Jiao Diancheng, president of Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co Ltd.

IMNU and Beijing Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co Ltd have maintained a long cooperative relationship with each other. 

"The company has employed more than 2,000 students from IMNU. The employment rate of these students, who are trained to be cabin attendants, has reached 95.36 percent in recent years, far ahead of other majors," said Zhang Haifeng, vice-president of IMNU.

Beijing Guanghuijintong Education and Technology Co Ltd built a practice center with investment of 42 million yuan ($6.3 million). The practice center will be responsible for training people in the skills required for serving on airliners, high-speed trains, and cruise ships. The center has advanced simulated high-speed train carriages, cruise ships and airliners.

A discussion about Jintong College of Civil Aviation was also held the same day. Wang Laixi, director of the Teaching Affairs Office introduced the majors, admissions and teaching methods of the college during the discussion.
