She spoke highly of the influence of the expo, especially some side events such as the Dunhuang Murals Boutique Exhibition and the Silk Road World University Football Invitational Tournament, on the two countries' cultural industry and higher education institutions. Uyanga said she expected more similar events in the future.

Mongolia's Grassland Road, China's Silk Road and Russia's Eurasian Continental Bridge are significant to the region and even the world, she noted.

"Dunhuang is a strategic node on the Ancient Silk Road, and is not only a trade interchange for the East and West but also an intersection between Eastern and Western cultures," said Yang Xiuqing, secretary-general of the CDGCRF.

Yang said the murals and sculptures of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes are a kind of Buddhist art that record the cultural exchanges, mutual learning and integration along the Silk Road from the 4th century to the 14th century.

He said the exhibition is aimed to promote Dunhuang art among university students and encourage young people to care for their cultural heritages and pass them down to future generations.
